For 10% of expatriates coming to Spain, their furniture arrives late.

For 10% of expatriates coming to Spain, their furniture arrives late. The solution: renting furniture, household goods, and decoration.

Going to live in another country can be a stressful experience. Expatriates face unique challenges when they abandon their country.  There are many concerns and problems to solve when arriving in a new country. One of the issues that need to be resolved immediately is to find a place to live.

Once you have a place, you may need at least the essential furniture and household items to live comfortably. Some places can be inhabited immediately with no need to buy anything. However, they are more expensive, and you do not have any choice in the kind of furniture. Maybe you decided to move all your furniture from your home country. This can be a problem because your furniture can arrive late, renting it on arrival can be a better and faster solution.

An international move can be a pain in the neck

Before moving your thing to another country there is a lot to take into account. International moves are delicate and complex processes. The reason is that international transportation is subject to a series of regulations and restrictions that may vary according to the country but the idea is to avoid multiple crimes related to the illegal transportation of goods.

International moves are also very expensive. So it is better to take with you the absolutely necessary, maybe some furniture if it has a sentimental value for you. Furniture generally suffers damage during the move. So probably the more delicate pieces will not survive the journey. It does not make so much sense to move household goods and appliances. It is better and probably cheaper to buy them in your new country.

There is also the possibility that your furniture may not arrive on time. This is true for at least 10 % of expatriates who arrived in Spain. Maybe you are lucky and your furniture arrived on time but it may not fit in your new place. Some pieces may be too big for the new spaces, or too small or they would not fit with the house’s decoration or style.

Renting is the best alternative

Renting furniture in your new country is cheaper and more convenient. You will have in your new place high-quality furniture by paying less. If you do not have the money to buy new furniture immediately, you can rent it and have all you need for your new place while you save enough money to buy new ones.

You would be able to choose what furniture you want and let the furniture rental company do the rest. They will take care of transporting and setting everything in your new place. Once you do not need it anymore, they will also take care to take everything away.  If you call the company in advance, your new house will be ready for you, with furniture that fits perfectly and without all the trouble or delay of an international move.
